Former Texas high school English teacher, Brittni Nicole Colleps, was convicted of having sex with multiple students in her home. The encounters involved involved five 18-year old students, and also involved group sex which was captured on a cell phone video and shown in court. She was sentence to five years in prison. (Fox News) She is married and has three children.
It took the jury less than an hour to conclude that Brittni Nicole Colleps, 28, of Arlington, was guilty of 16 counts of having an inappropriate relationship between a student and teacher. The second-degree felony is punishable by two to 20 years in prison per count.
Hetero Loco doesn’t understand the math here. If she was guilty of 16 counts and each count carries a sentence of two to 20 years, how did she only get five years in prison?
If a male teacher had been convicted of 16 counts of having inappropriate relationships with his female students, Hetero Loco thinks the sentence would have been much stiffer, no pun intended. If it was gay teacher, he/she would definitely have gotten a much longer sentence, maybe even life in prison.
Three of the students testified that they did not see themselves as victims and didn’t want their former teacher prosecuted. HL is sure they liked the sex and also the homoerotic element of sharing the experience with their buddies.
Hetero Loco believes wholeheartedly that consensual sex between adults should be totally legal. It does become problematic when an adult in a position of authority like a teacher uses her students for sexual gratification.
Her husband testified that while he was angry at his wife, he did not intend to leave her. He also admitted that the couple had engaged in group sex with others before.
